Activate your license

Activate by entering your email. Lex Cloak sends a one-time code to confirm it is you, so there is no password to remember. For privacy, every email address you enter shows the same code sent message, so if no code arrives, check your spam folder and confirm you typed the address you bought with. Your license works on both macOS and Windows.

Overview

Lex Cloak is free to scan, so you can open any document and see what is detected without a license. A license is what unlocks redacting and exporting the finished file. The activation flow is email-first: enter your email, receive a one-time code, paste it back.

How to activate

  1. Click Activate license on the banner at the top of the app, or open Settings and go to the License section.
  2. Enter the email you subscribed with and press Send code.
  3. Check that email for a one-time code from Lex Cloak. Paste the code into the prompt and press Activate.
  4. You are activated. Redacting and exporting are unblocked, and the license works offline afterward with only the occasional re-check.

Your license is keyed to your email, so the same code flow activates you on both macOS and Windows.

I did not receive my code

Lex Cloak shows the same code sent message for every email you enter, including addresses that are not subscribed, so the activation screen never tells the world whether an address has a license. That makes the I did not receive my code case worth a short checklist:

  • Check the spam or junk folder of the email account you typed. Email-from-product messages land there more than you would expect.
  • Confirm the address. The most common cause is a typo or a different account than the one you paid with. Re-open the receipt email Paddle sent you and use that exact address.
  • Give it a minute. Codes are usually instant, but mail delays do happen. If nothing arrives in a few minutes, request a new code.
  • If the wrong address went out, ask for a new code from the right one. Codes from an earlier request are still valid until they expire.
