Lex Cloak is a local-first PDF redaction app for professionals who handle sensitive documents, including attorneys, healthcare administrators, and forensic practices. It detects names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information, then lets you review each detection before anything is redacted. Built-in OCR handles scanned documents. Files are processed entirely on your machine and are never uploaded. Lex Cloak assists with removing HIPAA Safe Harbor identifiers, covering 14 of the 18 today. It runs on Windows and macOS at $9 per month or $90 per year, and scanning is free.

Why Lex Cloak exists, in one paragraph.
Lex Cloak started inside a small medical practice. The person handling its records needed to redact sensitive documents every week, and the available options either uploaded confidential files to someone else's servers or demanded tedious manual box-drawing in expensive software. Neither felt acceptable for records that sensitive. Lex Cloak was built to close that gap: automatic detection with human review, running entirely on the machine that already holds the documents. The documents never left the practice, and the tool grew into a product for any professional with the same problem.
